Court Correspondent :A Dhaka court on Thursday rejected the bail petitions of five BNP leaders, including the party’s Standing Committee member MK Anwar, in five cases filed with Motijheel and Ramna Police Stations.The other leaders are Standing Committee members Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia, Vice-Chairman (retired) Major Hafizuddin Ahmed and Organising Secretary Fazlul Haque Milon.Dhaka’s Metropolitan Session Judge Md Jahurul Haque passed the orders after hearing.Earlier, Dhaka’s Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court rejected the bail petitions of these five top leaders of BNP in the cases.MK Anwar, Moudud, Rafiqul Islam were arrested in a case filed for vandalism, arson and for interrupting police from doing work during the Hefazat-e-Islam activities on May 5 last year year.Hafizuddin, Bir Bikram, sought bails in three cases. Of them two were filed with Motijheel Police Station and the other case was lodged with Ramna Police Station. Besides, Milon sought bails in the cases filed with Ramna Police Station under the Penal Code and the Explosive Substances Act.
