Adv. Shaikh Jahangir Ali Babu, a senior lawyer and former General Secretary of Bagerhat district Bar Association and a veteran social organizer breathed his last in Khulna on Saturday while he was shifting from Khulna Medical College Hospital to Gazi Medical College Hospital for better treatment. He had been suffering from old age complications for long. He was 77. He left behind wife, 2 daughters and a host of relatives, friends and admirers to mourn his death. He was pious, honest, upright and well behaved all through his life.
During his active life he was the founder General Secretary of Bagerhat Theatre, Vice-president of BNP, Bagerhat district unit, first President Bagerhat branch of TIB (Transparency International Bangladesh) and associated with various socio-cultural organizations of Bagerhat district town.
