Khan Mujibor Rahman, Chairman of Bagerhat Sadar Upazila Parishad and a primary member of Bagerhat district unit of Awami League was expelled from his primary membership on the charge of taking part in the election campaign in favour of AL rebel Mayoral candidate Mina Hasibul Hasan Shipon against AL nominated candidate and seating Mayor Khan Habibur Rahman, according to the direction of the central committee of Bangladesh Awami League.
This punitive action was taken in a meeting of Bagerhat district unit of Bangladesh Awami League held on Wednesday in the evening.
A press release signed by Shaikh Kamruzzaman confirmed the matter.
