Dwelling house gutted
A dwelling house was gutted with all its belongings when a fire broke out in Ratarati colony within Ward No 6 under Mongla Pourashava in the district on Thursday morning. The origin of the fire could not be ascertained. It is learnt from Kabir Hossain, owner of the house that it caught fire at about 11-30 am and within moments it went out of control. On seeing the flame of fire and on hearing hue and cry the neighbouring people rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. 3 persons sustained burn injuries when they tried to extinguish the fire.
Student killed in road mishap
Mithun Dey, a brilliant student and son of one Krisnapada Dey of village Town Noapara within Piljanga Union under Fakirhat Upazila in the district met his tragic end when he was run over a motor cycle on Wednesday evening. Locals said that in the evening ill-fated Mithun Dey was going to Rupsa for Kali Puja marketing and when he reached Khajura a motor cycle dashed him violently from his behind. As a result both Mithun and the motor cyclist were injured. They were admitted to a local clinic. Considering the precarious condition Mithun was shifted to Khulna Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at 1 pm.
Young nan dies falling from tree
Dhiren Mandol (28), son of one late Manoranjan Mandol of village Lakurtala within Ryenda Union under Sharankhola Upazila in the district met his tragic end when he fell from a betel-nut tree on Thursday. Asaduszzaman Mion, UP Chairman of Rayenda said that on the day at 12 am he climbed a betel-nut tree in his own garden to pluck betel-nuts. But unfortunately he fell from the tree and sustaine grievious injuries. He was at first admitted to Sharankhola Upazila Health Complex. But considering his precarious conciliation he was shifting to Khulna Medical College Hospital.
