HSC examinee commits suicide in Chitalmari

Eila Mandol (18), an HSC examinee and daughter of one Jagadish Chandra Mandol of village Surrsail under Chitalmari Upazila in the district committed suicide by hanging herself with a tree near her dwelling house am Tuesday night.
It is learnt from the members of her family and the locals that she was an HSC examinee for 2014 from Gopalganj Technical School. and College. She had been suffering from brain tumor for long. For that reason she was very often attacked with severe headache.
3 shops gutted in Rampal
Three shops were gutted when a big fire broke out in Perikhali bazaar under Rampal Upazila in the district on Sunday. It is learnt from the police and the locals that at about 1 pm the fire originated from an electricity short circuit took place in a tailoring shop belonging to one Badsha Mia of the bazar spread to its two adjacent grocery shops and went out of control within minutes. On seeing the flame of fire the locals and the neighbouring people rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after a long fighting for more than one hour. But in spite of that all the three shops with their all belongings including cash Tk.25 thousand were burnt to ashes.
Month long trade fair inaugurated in Bagerhat
A month log trade fair was inaugurated in the local stadium by Dr. Mozammel Hossain, MP of Bagerhat constituency-4 as the chief guest in a ceremony held in the stadium with Md. Shukur Ali, DC, Bagehat in the chair on Sunday in the evening. The fair was organized by Bagerhat Chamber of Commerce and Industry On the occasion while the chief guest wasspeaking requested all concerned to make the fair success and make it free from all kinds of gambling.
Young man killed in road accident
A young passer-by named Md. Ferdaous (20), met his tragic end when he was run over by a speeding motor cycle on Mulghar (Fakirhat)-Baruipara Road at Paschimpara in the village Baraipara under Bagerhat Sadar Upazila orecently. Locals said that at about 10 pm the killer motor cycle was going from Baruipara to Fakirhat Upazila headquarters and when it reached the place of occurrence it dashed the passer-by violently from his behind just in front of his resident and fled away.
