Metro Rails Correspondent reached Mongla Port

The 11th consignment of Dhaka Metro Rails including 8 coaches, 4 engines and 34 packages of machinery goods reached Mongla Sea Port on Monday (August 22) from Japan by a foreign ship named MV. Hossy Crown. The ship loaded with Metro Rail materials left Kobey Sea Port of Japan on July 27 for Mongla Port. The ship anchored with Jetty No,7 of the port. Md. Wahiduzzaman, Manager of the local shipping agent Ancient Steam Ship Company of the ship told the newsmen, the ship carried 8 coaches, 4 engines and 34 packages of Metro Rail-goods reached Mongla Port from Kobey Sea Port of Japan. Rear Admiral Mohammad Musa, Chairman of Mongla Port Authorities told, the ship carried some materials of the Metro Rails reached Mongla Port from Japan and all those materials and equipments will be unloaded within a very short time.

Illegally hoarded 6500 liters Soybean oil seized

A joint team consists of a contingent of RAB-6 and Bagerhat district administration led an expedition in the different markets of Bagerhat district town on Monday (August 22) and seized 6 thousand 5 hundred liters of soybean edible oil illegally hoarded in a go-down belonging to one Suman Saha of Nagerbazar and a Mobile Cort conducted by Rakib Hasan Chowdhury, an Executive Magistrate of Bagerhat district administration convicted Suman Saha to pay a fine of Tk.30 thousand on the charge of illegally hoarding huge quantity of soybean edible oil in order to create artificial crisis of edible oil to earn a lot of profit. The Mobile Court further ordered to sell the seized soybean oil to the consumers at he fixed rate.

Anniv of grenade attack-day observed

Under the auspices of Bagerhat district unit of |Bangladeh Awami League and its all the front organizations the 18th anniversary of the gruesome grenade attack on Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister and the then opposition leader took place on Bangabandhu Avenue in Dhaka on August 21 in the year 2004 in which Sheikh Hasina was miraculously saved; but 24 people including Ivey Rahman, leader of the Woman affairs of Aami league and wife of late President Zillr Rahman were killed and over 500 people were injured and many of them were crippled for ever in, a befitting manner.
On the occasion thousand of Awami League and its front organizations leaders, workers, followers and supporters assembled in front of the local (Rai /road) AL office premises in the morning where Adv. Hemayet Uddin Bhuiya, General Secretary of Bagerhat district Awami League addressed the gathering and strongly condemned the grenade attack organized by BNP-Jamat qualition Government, Later a grand demonstration-rally was brought from there and paraded the main roads of the district town shouting various slogans against the then BNP-Jmat government for the gruesome grenade attack on August 21.

Python caught from dwelling house

A gigantic python of Sundarbans was recovered from a dwelling house belonging to one Sohag Shaikh of village Ulukata within Chila Union under Mongla Upazila in Bagerhat district on Sunday morning by the forest guards of Karamjal Tourist Spot and Wild Animal Breeding Center under Chandpai Forest Range in the Eastern Division of Sundarbans and it was released in the deep forest on the same day, according to a delayed report received here. Azad Kabir, Officer-in-charge of the center told, the python crossed the river that separates Sundarbans from the human habitations, entered into the dwelling house in the morning at 6 am in search of food. Then the inmates of the house caught it with fishing nets and informed us and the forest guards recovered it from the house at 11 am and released the sane in the forest.

School boy killed in Fakirhat road crash

Labib Shaikh (13), a student of class-VII was killed and Sadik Shaikh (13), a student of the same class was injured when their motor cycle collided with a road sided tree on Bagerhat-Rupsa old road near at Bahirdia under Fakirhat Upazila in Bagerhat district recently according to a delayed report received here.  
It is learnt from some eye-witnesses and Upazila Health Cplex that on the day at 11 am they were coming to Fakirhat from elsewhere by a speedy motor cycle and when they reached the place of occurrence they tried to over take a van rickshaw.
But cyclist Labib Shaik lost his control over the (motor) cycle and it collided with the road side tree. As a result, cyclist Labib Shaikh was fatally injured and the co-rider Sadik Shaikh sustained minor injuries. Then the locals recovered them and rushed them to Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex for their treatment. But considering the precarious condition Labib he was sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital where the physicians on duty declared him dead. Sadik Shaikh was released from the Health Complex after giving him first aid treatment.
Deceased Labib Shaikh was the son of one Kabir Shaikh of village Narayankhali under Batighata Upazila in Khuln district. But his family has been residing in Fakirhat for a long. Labib was a student of Class-VII of Satshaya Haji Abdul Hamid High School. Sadik Shaikh was son of one Farid Shaikh of village Satshaya under Fakrhat Upazila. He is also a student of Class-VII of the same school.
Md. Almgir Kabir, Officer-in-charge of Fakirhat Model PS confirmed the matter.
