Bagerhat freedom fighter Zafar Khan passes away

Md. Abu Zafar Khan, a brave freedom fighter and an adviser of Bagerhat district unit of Bangladesh Awami League breathed his last in Bagerhat Sadar Hospital at Wednesday night due to old age complications. He was 75. He left behind wife, 2 daughters and a host of relatives, friends and admirers to mourn his death. His Namaj-e-janaja was held in the office premises of Bagerhat district Awami League at the local Rail Road on Thursday after Johor prayer. He was laid to eternal rest in Muktijoddha graved yard at Purbo Basabati within Bagerhat Pourashava on the same day with full state honour.
Md. Abu Zafar Khan who was a dedicated Awami Leaguer all throughout his life hailed from Teligati village under Morrelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district. During his life time he served both Bgerhat district units of Bangladesh Chatra League and Bangladesh Awami League in various capacities.
 took part in the Liberation War of 1971. He was honest, pious, generous and well behaved. Sheikh Tonmoy, MP of Bagerhat Constituency-2 (Bagerhat Sadar), local Awami League leaders including Adv. Bhuyia Hemayet Uddin, AL General Secretary and leaders of its different front organizations condoled his death and expressed their deep sympathy to the members of the bereaved family.
