Bangladesh Air Force members are assisting in relief management which are arriving from foreign countries for Rohingya refugees.
A Relief Management Centre (RMC) has already been formed consisting BAF members. Senior Traffic Control Officer of BAF Base Zahurul Haque Wing Commander Md Jahangir Hossain was appointed as Chief coordinator of RMC.
Members of the local Base are working in unloading and despatching relief goods arrived from overseas countries.
Relief goods included rice, atta, salt, fishes, biscuits, chocolate, coconut oil, generator, family kits, lungi, medicine, powder milk, sugar, dates, tents, blankets, ready made garments etc.
Mentionable that foreign relief goods have been pouring in Bangladesh for Rohingyas since 9 September. So far a total of 467.66 tones relief goods were arrived, by air from Morocco, India, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. Bangladesh Air Force arranged necessary ware house for keeping relief goods at Shah Amanot Air port, Chittagong. After taking necessary actions in airport BAF members are handing over relief materials to Army personnel.
