BAESA team calls on President

Newly elected office-bearers of Bangladesh Atomic Energy Scientists Association (BAESA) made a courtesy call on President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban here on Tuesday. During the meeting, the delegation, led by its president Md Monjurul Haque, apprised the President of the activities of the association.
They said the Atomic Energy Commission has a radiation-testing lab in Chittagong, 15 nuclear medicine centres and a tissue bank. They also informed the President about various problems of the association and sought his cooperation in this regard. President Hamid expressed concern over the use of formalin in perishable food-items, including fruits and emphasized on taking steps to stop the use of this toxic chemical.
He assured the delegation of extending all out cooperation in solving their problems.
Concerned secretaries of the President’s Office were present.
