Bangladesh Badminton Federation general secretary FM Shamsul Arefin died of cancer at BIRDEM Hospital on Sunday. .
Shamsul Arefin, during the time of his death was 65 years old.
He has been suffering from liver cancer for last seven months, left behind one daughter, wife and a host of well-wishers to mourn his death.
Arefin, who was the general secretary of Pabna District Sports Association, will be laid to rest in Pabna as his first namaz-e-janaza was held at Baitul Esteram Jame Mosque in Mirpur yesterday.
Bangladesh Olympic Association and Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association in separate messages condole the sad demise of Shamsul Arefin and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
