BADC sells 4,813 tonnes seeds in Jamalpur, Sherpur

Seeds marketing, a wing of Bangladesh Agriculture Development Corporation (BADC), has sold 4,813 tonnes of various kinds of seeds among the farmers in Jamalpur and Sherpur districts this current season.
According to Seeds Marketing office, in the current robi season 5367.5 tonnes seeds were allotted in the two districts. Of the total 3,272 tonnes boro seeds, 1,261 tonnes wheat seeds, 765 tonnes potato seeds, 19 tonnes pulse seeds, 47 tonnes mustard seeds and 3.5 tonnes vegetables seeds.
Against the allotment the office sold 2,901 tonnes boro, 1,100 tonnes wheat, 765 tonnes potato, 15 tonnes pulse, 29 tonnes mustard and 2.7 tonnes vegetable seeds.
The seeds are being sold among the farmers through the registered dealers of BADC. A total of 386 dealers of whom 228 in Jamalpur and 158 dealers in Sherpur district got registration of BADC.
Deputy Director of Seeds Marketing Subrata Kumar Karmaker said farmers prone to cultivate their lands with the BADC seeds having its standard quality and good germination.
