Ailing former star footballer and renowned sports organizer Badal Roy has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for taking proper arrangement for his treatment abroad, saying that he will be ever grateful to the premier for her generosity.
“Convey my heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister and Jananetri Sheikh Hasina who gave me second life… I’m now alive due to Sheikh Hasina, the leader of 16 crore people,” Badal Roy’s wife Madhuri Roy quoted him as saying after the ex-footballer underwent the second successful surgery on Friday.
“I cannot repay the debt of my mother (Sheikh Hasina) … I also express gratitude to Jananetri on behalf of the grassroots leaders and workers,” Badal said in an emotion charged voice.
A BFF source told BSS that the second successful surgery of Badal Roy was done at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore on Friday night and it took nearly two and a half hours to replace the skull on his brain.
