Bachelors SC will meet PWD SC in the opening match of the Green Delta Insurance First Division Hockey League at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium today. The match begins at 1.30 pm.
Bangladesh Hockey Federation will organize the hockey competition under auspices of Green Delta Insurance Limited.
Marking the upcoming hockey competition, a press conference was held at the conference room of Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium.
Chairman of the First Division Hockey League Committee Md Mazharul Islam, Joint-Secretary of Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) Anvir Adil Khan Babu, Joint-Secretary of BHF Md Yousuf Ali, Secretary of the First Division Hockey League Committee Kamrul Islam Kismat were present at the conference.
A total of 11 teams will take part in the single league basis competition. They are: Bachelors SC, Police AC, Shishu Kishore Sangha, Barnak Samaj, Mukta Bihanga Tarun Sangha, Farashganj SC, Shantinagar SC, Combined SC, Uttara Hockey Club, Victoria SC, PWD SC.
The budget of the competition has been estimated at Taka nine lakh thirty thousand.
Top two teams from the league will be promoted to the next year’s Premier Division Hockey League.
The champions will be awarded Taka fifty thousand, while the runners-up will get Taka twenty five thousand.
Besides, each participating team will get Taka twenty five thousand as participation money.
The league will be concluded on November 29.
