The much talked Central Council of Hefazate Islami was held yesterday at Hathazari Darul Uloom Madrasha premises with senior Nayebe Ameer Mahibullah Babunagari in the chair.
The council was held after 59 days of the death of the Hefazat Ameer Allama Ahmad Safi who expires in Dhaka on September 18 last while under treatment.
Council of Hifazat-e-Islam appointed Junaid Babu Nagri as the Amir of Hifazat-e-Islam Bangladesh. At the same time, the much-discussed Hifazat-e-Islam Council ended with the announcement of Nur Hossain Qasemi as Secretary General.
The second session of the Darul Uloom Moinul Islam Hathazari Madrasa in North Chattogram at 2 pm announced the names of Ameer a nd the , secretary general of the organization.
Junaid Babungari is the Education Director of Hathazari Madrasa in Chattogram and the
Principal of Jamia Madania Baridhara Madrasa in Dhaka.Nur Hossain Qasemi is also the Amir of Dhaka Metropolitan Committee of Hefazat and the Secretary General of Ulamaye Islam Bangladesh.
Earlier, the first session of the conference started at 10:30 am and ended at 1:00 pm. In his welcome address, he announced the dissolution of the former committee of Hefazat.
At the end of the first session, Maulana Muhibullah Babu Nagri, Allama Junaid Babungari, Nur Hussain Qasemi, Ataullah Hafezi, Mahfuzul Haque, Maulana Abdul Awal Narayanganj, Maulana Yahya Hathazun, Maulana Maulana Junaid Al Habib were given the responsibility for selecting the top two leaders. After their meeting, the names of the new Amir and secretary general were announced in the second session.
The announcement was made by Maulana Mahfuzul Haque, Secretary General of Befaqul Madarisil Arabia Bangladesh (BEFAC) on behalf of Mahibullah Babungari, Chair of the Conference, at the Madrasa premises at around 2pm.
At the same time, a full committee of 151 members of the organization was also announced. About three hundred and fifty councilors from different districts of the country voted in it.
