Babul awarded PhD on Ayurvedic Medicine

Mohammed Babul Akter, a renowned physician, has been awarded PhD on Ayurvedic Medicine by Pharmacy Department of Jahangirnagar University (JU), Savar.  
The approval to award a PhD to Mohammed Babul Akter was given at a syndicate meeting of JU held recently, says a press release.
His PhD thesis “Pre-clinical safety study and clinical study on management of Osteoarthritis by Yogaraj Guggulu-a classical Ayurvedic Anti inflammatory Drug” was supervised by Prof M Sahabuddin K Choudhuri, a teacher of Pharmacy department of JU.
His PhD thesis on Yogaraj Guggulu, a medicine relating osteoarthritic disease, is the first ever in Bangladesh.
 After receiving Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) degree from Government Unani and Ayurvedic Medical College under University of Dhaka, he worked as a honorary lecturer at the college, and also worked as Assistant Professor and Head of Ayurvedic Department of Hamdard University Bangladesh.
Now, he is working as an Associate Professor and Academic Head of Ayurvedic Department of Noor Majid Ayurvedic College, Badda, Dhaka.
Earlier, he got Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree on Ayurveda from Gujarat Ayurved University, Jamnagar, Gujarat, India. He is the first MD Degree holder in Bangladesh.
Born at a family at Golai village in Singair upazila of Manikganj district, Babul Akter is son of late Shamsuddin Ahamed and Saleha Ahmed.
