Former Police Super Babul Akter was interrogated at the Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) headquarters on Tuesday in a case filed over the killing of his wife Mahmuda Khanam Mitu.
Mohammad Kamruzzaman, additional deputy commissioner of Detective Branch of CMP and the investigation officer of the case, said Babul reached the CMP office around 3:30 pm.
Babul came out of the CMP headquarters around 8:07 pm after the grilling.
However, there was no briefing from the IO on the interrogation.
On June 5, 2016, unidentified miscreants gunned down Mitu at the port city’s GEC intersection while she went there to drop her son, Mahir Akhter, 7, for a bus to Chittagong Cantonment Public School and College.
On September 6, 2016, Babul Akhter has been relieved from his service by dint of a gazette notification issued by Home Ministry.
