UNB, Dhaka :
Jatiya Party Secretary General Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu on Thursday criticised the government for its failure to bring an end to the banking sector and share market scams, and to ensure good governance.
“A police officer was arrested with Yaba in Feni. A protector turns predator. There’s no good governance in the country,” he said participating in the general discussion on the proposed budget in
Parliament.
Noting that some Tk 10,000 crore was looted from the state-owned Sonali Bank, he said the government failed to stop the plundering of public money from banks.
“The government couldn’t recover the plundered money. It’s the government, not we, who will have to shoulder the responsibility,” he said. Bablu demanded cancellation of proposed Tk 5,000 crore budgetary allocation for the state-owned banks to overcome the capital shortfall caused due to the money plundering.
