UNB, Dhaka :President of Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh (BDB) AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury on Wednesday wanted to know what an obstacle the government thinks to its return to power through holding credible polls by quitting power as it got 95 percent vote in Tuesday’s election. In a statement, he said, “The results of the first phase of Union Parishad election give an impression that 95 percent votes were cast in favour of Awami League [candidates].” B Chowdhury, also a former President, further said, “If this is the real picture, where’s the government’s psychological barrier to forming a parliament again through a neutral election after staying away from power for a few days.”He urged the government to immediately hold a national election. “I call upon the government that you prove before the people of the entire world that how much democratic you are through immediately arranging a fair and impartial election.”
