Former president and Jukta Front chairman AQM Badrudozza Chowdhury was not present in the pre-schedule programme of Jatiya Oikya Prokriya of Dr Kamal Hossian at the Jatiya Press Club on Saturday.
In the programme, Dr Kamal Hossian announced to forge a “greater national unity” with a five-point demand and nine-target declaration, including dissolution of Parliament, formation of a non-party polls-time government and cancellation of EVM. Our reporter learnt that B Chowdhury is vacillating and finally he may not join the national unity as his son Mahi B Chowdhury pressuring him to do so.
It is widely believed that B Chowdhury’s politics ultimately decided by Mahi B Chowdhury, who is a businessman.
A source close to Jatiya Oikya Prokriya confirmed The New Nation last night that sudden sickness of B Chowdhury is surprising as Dr kamal Hossain tried to contact with him (B Chowdhury) over cell phone but none responded.
Another leader of the unity process, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) president ASM Abdur Rab said, ‘Dr B Chowdhury got sick on the way to the Press Club. So, he could not come. Organizing Secretary Barrister Omar Faruq is representing his team.
Nagorik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna said, B Chowdhury came up to Moghbazar and got sick.
