The government has decided to appoint Major General Azmal Kabir as the next ambassador of Bangladesh to Indonesia.
Kabir was commissioned in the Corps of Engineers on June 10 in 1983, said an official release here on Monday.
In his long illustrated career, he served as the Instructor, Engineer Center and School of Military Engineering and School of Infantry and Tactics.
Kabir commanded 10 Riverine Engineer Battalion and 98 Composite Brigade at Bangabandhu Bridge.
He also served as the Commandant, Bangladesh Ordnance Factories, Gazipur and as the Chairman of Bangladesh Tea Board.
