The now-defunct Hefazat-e-Islam central committee’s Organizing Secretary Azizul Haque Islamabadi yesterday (Tuesday) was sent to the jail after his remand ended.
Magistrate Satyabrata Sikder of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the order on Tuesday after he was produced in the court.
Producing Islamabidi in the court, Investigation Officer of the case, SI Zahidul Islam appealed to the court to keep the accused in the jail.
He was earlier remanded in a case filed with Paltan Police Station over the mayhem carried out at Baitul Mukarram mosque area in March.
He was arrested in a joint operation of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Detective Branch (DB) of Police from Hathazari of Chattogram on April 11, midnight.
