A mobile court of Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) in an anti-adulteration drive penalized an Ayurvedic pharmaceutical
factory Tk 50,000 for manufacturing medicines violating related laws here on Wednesday afternoon.
The mobile court led by Executive Magistrate of RpCC Mahmud Hasan Mridha conducted the anti-adulteration drive at ‘S R Laboratories’, an Ayurvedic pharmaceutical factory, in Mandalpara Robertsonganj area of the city.
The mobile court checked documents and found no valid documents including license and approval for running the factory.
Besides, the factory was producing medicines without chemists in an
unhygienic environment with no masks, gloves, aprons and other health safety measures of workers.
The mobile court fined the owner of the Ayurvedic pharmaceutical factory Md. Rafikul Islam Tk 50,000 under the Drugs Act, 1940 for the offenses.
Besides, the court seized huge quantities of produced unauthorized drugs and destroyed those and stopped production of medicines in the factory.
Assistant Director at Rangpur Office of the Drug Administration Tauhidul Islam and members of Rangpur Metropolitan Police were present.
