Ayman Ibn Zaman of Bangladesh Railway emerged men’s singles champion in the 34th National Badminton Championship beating Enamul Haque of Sylhet DSA by 26-6, 18-21 points in the final held on Saturday at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium.
In the men’s doubles event, Jamil Ahmed Dulal & Rahat pair of Bangladesh Railway clinched men’s doubles title beating Ebadul haq Chowdhury Sohel & M Joynal Abedin of Sylhet Division pair by 20-22, 21-18, 21-13 points in the final. In the women’s singles, Shapla Akter of Narayanganj emerged champion defeating her compatriot Anila Sultana by 15-212, 21-07 21-19 in the final. In the women’s doubles, Alina Sultana & Shappla Akter pair of Narayanganj clinched women’s doubles title outplaying Bristi Khatun & Rehenas Jhatun of Bangladesh Army by 21-11, 21-12 in the final.
In the mixes doubles event, Abdul Hannan & Shipla Akter of Narayanganj clinched mixed doubles title defeating Rahat Kabir Khaled & Afrina Islam Mouli by 21-9, 23-21 in the final. National Sports Council Secretary Ashok Kumar Biswas was the chief guest in the final and distributed the prizes.
