Environment and Forest Minister Anwar Hossain Manju on Saturday underscored the need for creating awareness among the people about sea resources through proper management for the advancement of the country.
“We have lot of mineral resources in our maritime boundary. Awareness is very important to save the resources,” he said as the chief guest while addressing a seminar on
Protect our Seas” organized at the National Press Club in the city.
Bangladesh National Committee of International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Members organised the seminar.
The minister said, Bangladesh can further boost its economy using the sea resources properly and added that the sea boundary of the country has expanded.
He urged the government officials to apply their knowledge in professional life and help harness the sea resources.
He also called upon the people especially youths to come forward for asserting necessary efforts to make the sea resources vital one for the country’s economy.
Among others, Chairperson of the Bangladesh National Committee of the IUCN Members Hasna Jasimuddin Moudud delivered speech on the occasion.
