Awareness for resisting militancy, terrorism stressed

Creating awareness among the young generation as well as members of every family has become a burning question of the time to resist militancy and terrorism in the country.
The opinion came at a rally arranged against militancy and terrorism by Mohasthan 2 Regiment of Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) at Rangpur Cantonment Public School & College ground on Saturday afternoon.
Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Minu Sheel as the chief guest inaugurated the rally that paraded the main streets of the city from Rangpur Cantonment Public School & College ground.
Principal of Rangpur Cantonment Public School & College Colonel Nurul Huda, psc, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education & ICT) Priyosindhu Talukder and Additional Police Super Abdullah Al Faruk addressed the function, among others.
Adjutant Major Harun Ar Rashid of Mohasthan 2 Regiment of Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) coordinated the rally.
A total of 125 BNCC members from Carmichael College, Rangpur Government College, Rangpur Begum Rokeya Government College, Rangpur cantonment Public School & College, Rangpur Zila School and Koilashranajn High School participated the rally.
Another reports says: Leaders of the Combined Writers’ Community (CWC), poets, literary and cultural personalities here on Saturday called upon all to be united against militancy, terrorism and anarchy. They asked the pro-liberation forces and common people to launch a vigorous social movement for resisting militancy, terrorism, extremism, secret and targeted killings in the country.
They put special importance to further enriching Bengali culture and reviving social values through strengthening literary and cultural movement in building a peaceful and prosperous Bangladesh. They expressed the views in a human chain and anti-militancy poem recitation programme organised by Combined Writers’ Community on the Town Hall premises in the city.
With President of literary organisation ‘Uttaron’ AKM Shahidur Rahman Bishu in the chair, writers, poets, literary and socio-cultural personalities,intellectuals, dramatists, educationists, politicians and professionals took part in the programme.
President of Divisional Lekhok Parisahd Kazi Md Joonnun, General Secretary (GS) of Rangpur unit of Jatiya Kobita Parisahd Manjil Murad Lablu, President of Rangapur Shahittya Parishad Professor Mozammel Haque and President of Rangpur Shahityya-Sangskritik Parisahd Professor Shah Alam, addressed among others.
The speakers strongly condemned the recent militant attacks and killings of foreigners and local citizens at Gulshan in Dhaka and Sholakia in Kishoreganj, terrorism, militancy, extremism and secret targeted killings in the country.
BSS from Khulna adds: Speakers at a view-exchange meeting here yesterdays urged the people from all walks of life to make united efforts to resist secret killings, terrorism, militancy and conspiracy against the country.
The meeting on ‘terrorism and militancy’ was held between the members of newly formed Khulna City Unit Policing Forum and high officials of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) at the conference room of Police headquarters.
A 101-member Khulna City Unit Policing Forum has been re-formed with noted physician Quamrul Islam and social worker Md. Sayed Ali as its president and general secretary respectively.
The forum has been re-constituted at a meeting to fight against anti-social activities and to create public awareness to resist terrorism and militancy.
Chaired by the policing forum president Dr. Quamrul Islam, KMP Commissioner Nibash Chandra Majhi addressed it as the chief guest.
Khatibs, Imams of mosques, priests of temples, presidents and general secretaries of different professional bodies, civil society leaders, teachers, journalists and lawyers attended the meeting.
The chief guest urged the members of the policing forum to launch a massive campaign at all levels and form unity among the people believing in spirit of the 1971 Liberation War. He said that KMP is determined to sternly deal with the drug traders here to rid the city dwellers of this social menace.
The meeting was addressed, among others, by additional police commissioner of KMP Mahbub Hakim, president of City unit Muktijoddha Sangsad Professor Alamgir, vice-president of Khulna Chamber of Commerce Gopi Kisan Mundora, vice-president of Frozen Foods Exporters Association Md. Abdul Baki, journalists S M Nazrul Islam and S M Zahid Hossain, president of Khulna Zila Imam Parisad Mowlana Md. Abu Saleh, civil society leaders Mahbub Alam Farazi, Abdullah Aref Titu, advocate Aloka Nanda Das and deputy police commissioner Fazlur Rahman.

Eradicating all sorts of terrorism and militancy attack is the precondition to uphold peace and social harmony in the society. It is the high time to resist and take action against the militant and terrorist for the sake of our country. The speakers viewed there is no alternative to eliminate the militancy and terror attacks in strong hand besides forging social resistance to this come to an end. All of us should be strong enough to supplement the Govt. efforts towards freeing the nation from the curse of militancy and terror attacks. The speakers also called upon the Imams, religious leaders, teachers, politicians and different organizations to come forward against the activities of terrorism and militancy. They also urged all for alert on any kind of militancy and tackle it unitedly. People should remain alert and always vigilant about the new comer and unknown people in any areas.
