Awareness campaign for Dengue-free Dhaka held

Right to Peace (R2P), an organization of youths for research and activism, arranged a public awareness campaign among the marginalized people on preventive measures against Dengue. The program was arranged at Balurmath near Boubazar, Hazaribagh in the capital on Wednesday.
This is part of 55 No ward, one of the places at higher risk, as R2P identified by analysing available data. They designed this campaign program as a preventive measure to address this serious risk ahead of rainy season. The slogan of the program was “We Want Dengue Free Dhaka”.
The main aim of R2P is to organise the young population of Bangladesh and conduct awareness building campaigns as well as development programs across the country. The organisation conceives that dengue outbreak can be prevented this year if proper awareness programs are conducted among people. R2P volunteers Rabeya Akhter Sathi, Ruhi Rusaba Zahwa Jahan and Khadiza Akhter gave speech on prevention against dengue. They also distributed cloths among the people in need, who participated in the campaign.
Md Sanee Qudrat Saqee, the Programme Coordinator of R2P was present in this campaign. Afnan Hossain coordinated the organization of this event and Monjurul Morshed Moon facilitated the program. A large team of volunteers contributed to make the campaign a success. These philanthropic youths include Zarif, Qazi Nishat Anzum, Azdika Afsana, Rayhan, Sanjid, Shakila, Epti, Aman, Siam, Korobi, Nabila and Nisha. The volunteers informed that this kind of program will be arranged in other parts of Dhaka as well as the other parts of country in future.
