Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder said it is impossible to ensure safety food through imposing laws and deploying mobile court rather to aware the cultivators and consumers. He said media has responsibility to aware the mass people against food adulterations.
The minister disclosed it while addressing the workshop on ‘Safety Food Act-2013 implementation and mass awareness’ was held at Hotel Shaikat in the city as chief guest on Wednesday .
He said govt is working for sustaining the quality of foods. He also said despite knowing the bad impact of using insecticides in crop fields , farmers also use such insecticides aimed at large agri output .
He urges the farmers to use insecticides with prescribed limitations . The Minister further said adulteration can not be stopped through imposing laws and we find adulterated foods in everywhere of the society .
480 agencies and 71 courts are relentlessly performing responsibities across the country for safety food and to present adulterated and spurious foods. He also requested the school teachers to impart lesson the students for 2 minutes about the safety food and one minute against abuse of deadly drugs . He said the common people of the society believe the lessons of teachers and Imams . In reply to a questions of a journalist, the minister said 10 good godowns of Chattogram were sealed and physically inspected four godowns of total sealed godowns.
He cautioned against the irregularities in food godowns and disciplinery actions will be taken against the persons liable for that irregularities. He said anti-unfair means drive is continuing under Food Ministry in all food godowns and a 5-members probe committee formed to undergo investigations against irregularities.
