Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahabub-ul-Alam Hanif on Sunday said his party wants an election to be participated by all political parties.
“BNP is interested to come in election … But they are certain about their defeat as they are now isolated from the common people,” he said addressing the biennial conference of Bangladesh Postmen and Postal Employees Union at the GPO auditorium in the city.
AL Labour Affairs Secretary Habibur Rahman Riaz, Bangladesh Post Office Director General Sushanto Kumar Mondol, Jatiya Sramik League President Shukkur Mahmud, Sramik League Executive President Fazlul Haque Mantu and General Secretary Sirajul Islam, among others, addressed the function.
Bangladesh Postmen and Postal Employees Union President Nasir Ahmed was in the chair.
Hanif said the world leaders are honouring Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as the country is progressing fast under her dynamic leadership.
But, he said, the BNP is now busy to mislead the people through falsehood.
Hopping to win the next general elections, Hanif said, “I’m optimistic to come in power again as the AL-led grand alliance government is carrying out development activities throughout the country.
