National Junior Champion of Bangladesh Avik Sarker finished 39th in the Asian Junior Open Rapid Chess Tournament that concluded at New Delhi, India on Tuesday.
Avik earned 4 points from 9 games. Another Bangladesh chess player FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman placed 46th with 3.5 points also from 9 games.
IM Mosadeghpour Masoud of Iran emerged champion with 7 points while Aravindh Chithambaram of India finished runner-up with the same collection.
Including 3 Grandmasters and 4 International Masters, a total of 57 players from 9 Asian countries took part in the event.
