Avik Sarker of Bashir Memorial Chess Club emerged unbeaten champion of the Walton Amateur Rating Chess Championship in tiebreaking which concluded at Bangladesh Chess Federation Hall-room on Tuesday.
Jewel Khan of Agrani Bank Daba Dal finished runner-up while Nasi Uddin Mahmood placed 3rd.
The result was decided in tiebreaking as Avik, Jewel and Nasir tied with 7.5 points each after the final round games.
Seven players finished from 4th to 10th position also by tie breaking as they earned 7 points each. They are: 4th-Mohammad Ibrahim Hossain, 5th-Nayan Kumar Mohanto, 6th- Matiur Rahman Mamun, 7th- Shawkat Bin Osman, 8th- Shafiqul Islam, 9th-Waheduzzaman and 10th-Subrato Biswas.
Six players placed 11th to 16th bagging 6.5 points apiece. They are: 11th-Sariatullah, 12th-Habibur Rahman Sohel, 13th- Aminul Islam, 14th-Saimon Siddiqur Rahman, 15th-S M Arman Mehdi and 16th-Moniruzzaman.
