UNB, Dhaka :A designated team of ‘Ansarullah Bangla Team’ (ABT) consisting of 4-5 members held a meeting on the fields of Mohsin Hall on the Dhaka University campus, just three hours before killing blogger Avijit Roy.The banned Islamic outfit’s main organiser, Jasimuddin Rahmani, has been sending instructions from jail to carry out the killing missions against the bloggers to active members through younger brother Abul Bashar.This was revealed by Director (Legal and Media wing) of Rab headquarters Commander Mufti Mahmood Khan, as information gleaned from the three ABT members – Bangladeshi-born UK national Tawhidul Islam, 58, Sadek Ali Mithu, 28, and Aminul Mollik, 35 – arrested on Tuesday.Sadek Ali Mithu worked in a printing press, where Jasimuddin Rahmani used to print his books. That is how they met, and Mithu became an active member of ABT in 2011.Aminul Mollik was a passport broker. He used to help the absconding ABT members obtain passports to go abroad escaping arrest. Briefing reporters at RAB headquarters on Tuesday afternoon, Commander Mufti said based on secret information, a Rab-3 team arrested Sadek Ali Mithu from Nilkhet area at about 10:30 pm on Monday night. Acting on his statement the anti-crime force arrested Tawhidul Islam, a financier of the outfit, and active member Aminul Mollik from the road adjoining Star Kabab in Dhanmondi on the same night at about 12:30 am, he said.He said that Tawhid, who went to the UK in the 1990s and became an IT expert, came into contact with ABT organiser Jasimuddin Rahmani in 2007 and became an active member of the organisation.Tawhid has been looking after all activities, including financing, of the ABT in absence of Jasimuddin Rahmani, who has been languishing in jail since 2013. Tawhid was getting instructions through Rahmani’s younger brother Abul Bashar, the RAB’s director (Media) said. During interrogation, the arrested militants revealed that absconding ABT members Ramzan alias Siyam, Nayeem, Julhas Biswash and Jafran Al Hasan – actively took part in the Avijit killing mission.
