DU Correspondent :The body of writer and blogger Avijit Roy was handed over to the authorities of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for medical research on Sunday.DMCH Principal Dr Ismail Khan and head of the Anatomy Department Dr Shamim Ara received the body from Professor Ajay Roy, a noted educationist and father of Avijit, in the afternoon. Ajay Roy said that the body was donated to the DMCH for medical research as Avijit had a wish to donate his body there. Earlier, people from all walks of life paid their last tributes to slain Avijit at the foot of Aparajeyo Bangla on the Dhaka University campus. Avijit, a Bangladesh-born US citizen, was hacked to death by unidentified miscreants near the TSC of Dhaka University on Thursday night. His wife Rafida Ahmed Bonya was also critically injured in the attack. She is now undergoing treatment at Square Hospital in the city.However, none of killers has been arrested yet to the brutal murder.
