Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan on Wednesday launched a Software for Inland Ship Management System (SISMS) as part of government’s effort to modernize Department of Shipping. According to the ministry sources, as a result of using the automated system, vessel owners now will be able to secure survey certificate for their ships by applying online. Bangladeshi sailors working in different seagoing vessels will also be able to verify their certificates from any part of the world.
