Chittagong Zilla Muktijuddha Sangsad will narrate the ‘Autobiography of Bangabandhu’ to the students of different schools and colleges in Chittagong city and 14 upazilas of the district.
Marking the 39th anniversary of martyrdom of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Muktijuddha Sangsad has taken up the initiative to present Bangabandhu, his political life and his sacrifices for the independence of the country before the young generation.
Deputy Commissioner Mezbah Uddin will formally inaugurate the programme at city’s Bangladesh Women’s Association School and College on Sunday.
Zilla Muktijuddha Sangsad Commander Mohammad Sahabuddin said they have got approval of the Directorate of Secondary Education (DoSE) while the directorate passed an order in this regard.
“As per our proposal approved by the DoSE, besides the Muktijuddha Sangsad, District and upazila administrations would also observe the same programme and a delegation from the Muktijuddha Sangsad would assist the respective upazila administrations”, Commander Sahabuddin added.
Muktijuddha Sangsad sources said the programme would be observed at Dr Khastagir Govt. Girls’ High School on August 11, Chittagong Govt. High School on August 12, Nasirabad Govt. High School on August 13 and Chittagong Govt. Girls’ High School on August 14.
Meanwhile, the Muktijuddha Sangsad chalked out elaborate programmes to observe August 15, the National Mourning Day.
The programmes include placing floral wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu in the Sangsad office on August 15, drawing competition at Shishu Academy on August 16 and discussion meeting and prize giving ceremony on the same day.
