Detective Branch of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested two CNG-run auto-rickshaw thieves in the Chalitatali area under Bayazid police station on Saturday early morning.
The arrestees were identified as M Rubel, 28, son of Nurul Haque’s and M Saheedul Islam, 21, son of M Nizamuddin both are hailed from Chalitatali, Bayazid.
Asif Mohiuddin, Additional Deputy Commissioner (South) of city Detective Police said, on a tip-off Detective police conduct a drive in the morning and arrest two thieves along with a stolen auto-rikshaw.
He said,the thieves used to steal auto-rickshaws through new techniques.
After stealing auto-rickshaws they would contact the owners and demanded money, he added.
