The driver of the CNG-run auto-rickshaw that Abu Bakar Siddique, husband of environment lawyer Syeda Rizwana Hasan, took to reach home after he was freed by his abductors in small hours of Friday night gave confessional statement before a magistrate court here on Saturday.
The court of Narayanganj Senior Judicial Magistrate Monwara Begum recorded the statement
given by the auto-rickshaw driver Hafizur Rahman around 4 pm.
In his statement, the driver described where and what condition he carried AB Siddique.
Police rescued Siddique from the auto-rickshaw near Kalabagan field in the city in the wee hours on Friday as the abductors set him free 35 hours into his abduction.
Earlier in the day, the five-member enquiry committee formed by Police Headquarters visited in Delpara in Fatullah of Narayanganj where Siddique was abducted.
As part of their investigation into the abduction, the committee members also visited Hamid Fashion in Fatullah in which Siddique works as managing director.
