An auto-rickshaw driver was hacked to death by his neighbour at Chengutia Bazar in Abhoynagar upazila on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Emadul,33, son of Ayub Gazi, a resident of Bangram village of the upazila.
Police said Raisul, son of Kader Sarder, a resident of the same village, attacked Emadul in the area on his way home in the afternoon.
At one stage, Raisul chopped Emadul indiscriminately with sharp weapon, leaving him seriously injured.
Local people rescued Emadul and took him to Abhoynagar Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
Raisul was also seriously injured by Emadul while he tried to save himself from Raisul.
Raisul was admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
Officer-in-charge of Abhoynagar Police Station Sheikh Nasir Uddin confirmed the incident saying that Raisul killed Emadul over a family feud.
