Australian HC team meets UGC Chairman

A four-member delegation of Australian High Commission (HC) led by Ben Sakker Kelly, first secretary (Education and Research) of Australian HC in New Delhi, on Tuesday, paid a courtesy call on UGC Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan at his office.
The other members of the delegation were Second Secretary of the Foreign Affairs and Trade Department of the Australian HC in Dhaka Federic Jeanjean, Advisor (Education and Research) of Australian HC in New Delhi Shazia Naqvi and Business Development Manager of Australian Trade Commission in Dhaka, Mostafizur Rahman.
During the meeting they discussed issues including further academic and research collaboration among the higher educational institutions in Bangladesh and Australia.
Prof Mannan said the delegation members that UGC had been working with a number of components of HEQEP(Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project) including Academic Innovation Fund (AIF), Bangladesh Research and Education Network (BREN), Quality Assurance Cell and UGC Digital Library.
World-class graduates produced by some of the public and private universities in Bangladesh are teaching at different leading universities of the world, he added.
