Sabbir Hossain :Australian Women’s Cricket team will face New Zealand Women’s Cricket team today in the opening match of the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Cricket at the Sylhet Stadium. The match begins at 3.30 pm.A total of ten teams splitting into two groups are taking part in the gala extravaganza for women.Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan, Ireland are in Group A, while Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, India, West Indies and England are in Group B.The champions of Group A will face the runners-up of Group B in the first semifinal at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on April 3, while the champions of Group B will meet the runners-up of Group A in the second semifinal at the same venue on April 4.The winners of the two semifinals will face each other in the final at the same venue on April 6.Australia Women’s team clinched the championship title for two times. The Aussies have a target to make hat-trick by winning trophy.On the other hand, New Zealand reached the final twice and in the last meet, they took the berth of semifinal.Pakistan Women have positive approach. England Women clinched the first edition of the cricket meet. Their target is to regain the title.On the other hand, Bangladesh women were whitewashed by Indian women and Pakistani women in Cox’s Bazar recently. But Salma Khatun-led squad want to show gimmick in their home soil.Bangladesh women will play against West Indies in their first match on March 26.
