Australia recorded an exciting three runs victory over New Zealand in the high scoring ICC World Cup T20 warm-up match held on Wednesday at the Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
Batting first after winning the toss, Australia rode on a blistering 113-run opening pair by David Warner and Aaron Finch, piled up a massive total of 200 for 7 from their allotted 20 overs.
Opener David Warner smashed 65 runs off 26 balls hitting seven boundaries and five over boundaries while Aaron Finch cracked 47 runs off 22 balls with the help of nine boundaries and one over boundary. Kyle Mills bagged two wickets conceding 21 runs.
In reply, New Zealand made a good start but finally they were restricted at 197 for 9 from in stipulated 20 overs.
Opener Martin Guptill contributed 62 runs off 34 balls hitting five boundaries and four over boundaries while Corey Anderson added 29.
Mitchell Starc, Brad Hogg, Nathan Coulter- Nile and James Muirhead claimed two wickets each giving away 21,36, 36 and 40 runs respectively.
