AUST hosts ICCIT 2020 Conference inauguration

The virtual inaugural ceremony of the 23rd International Conference on Computers and Information Technology was held at the Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology on Saturday.
Post telecommunications and information technology minister Mustafa Jabbar attended the event as the chief guest where AUST vice-chancellor Muhammad Fazli Ilahi gave the welcome speech.
There were 325 papers from 15 different countries on different topics. Out of those, 105 were accepted and would be presented at the 3-day conference.
The minister gave an outline of the future activities and programmes related to ICT that will be implemented for the rapid development of Bangladesh.
Satya Prasad Majumder, vice-chancellor of BUET; Anwar Hossain, senior secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology; and Kazi Rafiqul Alam, chairman, board of trustees, AUST were the special guests and spoke on the occasion.
Conference general chair, Muhammad S Alam, Texas A&M University, USA, was the chair of the inauguration ceremony, and Muhammad A Karim, University of Massachusetts, USA also spoke on the occasion, said a press release on Sunday.
