Aus farmers get agri inputs in Trishal, Saghata

A total of 3,640 small and marginal farmers got Kharip Opshee Aus seeds and fertilisers free of cost in Trishal upazila in the district.
The seeds and fertilisers were distributed under Aus incentives programme for boosting Aus rice in the upazila.
On the occasion, Trishal upazila Agriculture Office organised a function at the conference room of its office on Tuesday evening.
Chairman, Trishal Upazila Parisad Abdul Motin Sarker distributed the seeds and fertilisers among the beneficiaries as the chief guest while Upazila
Agriculture Officer Tania Rahman was in the chair.
DAE office sources said, the objectives of the programme is to assist the farmers to cultivate more Aus paddy in order to achieve self sufficiency in
food production.
Agriculture office sources said, each beneficiaries received 5 Kgs of seeds, 10 Kgs MOP and 20 kgs DAP fertilisers under the programme.
Besides a total of 3,160 small and marginal farmers of Phulbaria upazila were given Aus incentives by the upazila agriculture office.
BSS from Gaibandha adds : As many as 1,060 small and marginal farmers of Saghata upazila in the district got seed of high yield variety (HYV) Aus
paddy and fertilizers from the upazila agriculture office under the Agri Incentive Program of the government.
In this regard, a function was held on the premises of upazila parishad on Wednesday at the arrangement of upazila agriculture office with UNO Sarder
Mostafa Shaheen in the chair. Upazila chairman Zahangir Kabir formally inaugurated the distribution programme as the chief guest.
Each of the farmers received 5 kgs of Aush paddy seed (HYV), 20 kgs of Di Ammonium Phosphate and 10 kgs of Triple Super Phosphate popularly known as DAP and TSP fertilizers free of cost.
Speaking on the occasion, upazila chairman Zahangir Kabir urged the farmers to farm the HYV Aush paddy using the quality seed during the current Aush season to attain the cherished goals of the paddy farming.
Agriculture officers and upazila level officials including public representatives were present on the occasion.
Talking to the BSS, upazila agriculture officer krishibid Sadequzzaman said as per the directive of the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina
the department of agricultural extension (DAE) took initiative to enhance the farming of Aush paddy in farmers’ level across the country.
