A court in Jessore has given death penalty to a woman for pouring acid into the mouth of a one month 19-day old baby at Azmehernagar under Bagharpara upazilain Jessorte on January 11, 2005.
Md. Sharif Hossain, Additional District and Session Judge, Jessore and also judge of Acid Violence Pretension Tribunal handed down the verdict on Sunday.
The convicted is Rina Rani Tarafder, wife of Paritosh Kumar Tarafder and also aunt of the victim baby.
