Auditor held in graft case

The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday arrested a former auditor of Dhaka Cantonment from the capital in a graft case.
ACC deputy assistant director Nazim Uddin arrested ex-auditor of the Office of the Finance Controller (Army, Pay-1) Manik Chandra Maitra (now auditor of navy, Khalishpur, Khulna) from the city’s Segunbagicha area, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB.
On November 24, 2015, the national anti-graft agency filed a case against him and six others for allegedly plundering Tk 2.31 lakh. According to the case statement, the accused in collusion with each other swindled the amount through preparing fake bill-vouchers to 18 army officers.
