The telecom regulator is going to carry an information system audit to cellular phone operator Robi soon.
The regulator – – Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) struck an agreement with local auditing firm Masih Muhith Haque & Co and its Indian associate firm P K F Sridhar & Santhanam LLP to this effect.
BTRC Director (Admin) Aftab M Rashedul Wadud, Masih Muhith Haque & Co’s partner Muraheb Malik Chowdhury and P K F Sridhar & Santhanam LLP’ Ganapati Subramanian put pen on the agreement paper at BTRC office, said a press release yesterday.
The regulator is going to conduct a full-fledged audit to Robi for the first time after starting its operation in Bangladesh.
BTRC hoped the audit would bring more transparency and dynamism as well as quality of services for the operator.
Meanwhile, BTRC has already started auditing to Grameenphone while initiative has been taken to conduct audit to other operators.
BTRC Commissioner (Spectrum) A T M Monirul Alam, BTRC Secretary Sarwar Alam, Director (Finance and Account) Ashish Kumar Kundhu, Director (Legal) Tareq Hasan Siddiquee and Director (Enforcement and Inspection) Yakub Ali, among others, were present on the occasion.
