The auction of TV telecasting rights of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will be held today at the Ball Room in Ruposhi Bangla Hotel. A total of four organizations have dropped tenders for the TV telecasting rights of BCB. They are: Sports Solution, Maasranga Television, Gazi TV and Channel 9. Of them, one organization will get the TV telecasting rights of BCB in an open auction.
BCB has a special committee to sell the TV telecasting rights of BCB. The members of the committee are: Afzarur Rahman Sinha, Mahbubul Anam, Iqbal Haidar Mallick and Kazi Inam Ahmed. After scrutiny the tenders, the committee will give the TV telecasting rights to an organization. It may be mentioned that the final selection will be approved by the BCB Directors.
BCB will select a floor price to sell the TV telecasting rights of BCB.
Earlier, Nimbus Sports bought the TV telecasting rights of BCB for six years for 56.88 million $ dollars.
The organization, which will get the TV telecasting rights of BCB, will sign in an agreement with BCB that the organization will get the TV telecasting rights from April 2014 to April 2020. The organization will telecast 32 Test matches, 52 ODI matches and 11 Twenty20 matches of Bangladesh Cricket team during the six years.
If the competitions will increase, BCB can sell TV telecasting rights to another organization.
