An attempt was taken by some alleged miscreants to set fire one Mizanur Rahman Shaikh of village Bahatsala under Sadar Upazila in Bagerhat district and all other members of his family with setting fire on his dwelling house after shutting its all the doors from the outside recently.
In this connection a GD was lodged with Bagehat Model PS by Mizanur Rahman.
According to the GD, on Thursday night and all other members of his family fell asleep. But at about 2 am he wake up after getting the burning smell of something Mizanur Rahman woke up and found his dwelling house caught fire. He tried to go out of the house, but in vain as its all the doors were closed from the outside. Then he, somehow, broke open the fencing of his kitchen and went out of the house along with all the inmates and made a hue and cry. On hearing the same neighbours and villagers rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. The estimated cost of fire damaged properties is Tk.1 lakh.
