Four abductors with attempt of abducting a man impersonating Detective Branch officials were given mass beating by the locals yesterday afternoon at Madambibir Hat area under Sitakkunda upazila on Chittagong -Dhaka highway .
The locals set fire on a private car that carried these abductors. The identity of these abductors yet to be traced till writting this report, police sources said. During the occurrence of the incident, the transport movement on Dhaka-Ctg highway remain suspended for about one hour caused severe traffic congestion .
Asstt. Police Super of Sitakunda circle Saiful Islam told that four fake DB men arrested one Jahiruddin with handcup from Fouzderhat who boarded in a private car . Sensing the news of the abduction, the local people puts barricade at Madambibir hat and gave them mass beating and set the car with fire. Sensing the information of beating to these fake DB men , police stormed on the spot and sent these injured abductors to hospital for treatment.
While contacted, police sub-inspector of chittagong Medical college Hospital police camp Jahirul Islam said that four critically injured abductors were admitted in the hospital . A case in connection is under process before the concerned police station, sources said.
