Staff Reporter :Police shot and injured an attacker for allegedly hurling a petrol bomb targeting the patrol van of law enforcers in the city’s Jatrabari area on Sunday noon. The bomb-thrower, identified as Jakir Hossain, 25, of Zia Nagar of Barisal and also a resident of Konaparaof Demra in capital, received severe bullet injuries in both legs. According to police, Jakir hurled a petrol bomb targeting a vehicle of mobile police team at Mominabag area under Jatrabari police station at about 1:00pm. He, however, missed the target. But police retaliated fast and shot him under knee caps of both legs in quick reflex. Police later sent him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital [DMCH].
