Twenty four leaders and activists of Rajshahi University (RU) unit have been sued on charge of attacking on Shibir leader Rasel Alam.
Razia Begum, mother of the victim filed the cases on Tuesday evening with Rajshahi metropolitan chief magistrate court.
Court sources said, the case has been filed naming 9 leaders and activists including BCL RU unit General Secretary SM Touhid Al Tuhin, Organizing Secretary Faisal Ahmed Runu and Kaosar Ahmed Koushik, Joint Secretary Golam Kibria, Human Resources Development Affairs Secretary Sabrun Jamil Sushmoy and others 15 unnamed.
Contacted, Alamgir Hossain, Officer-In-Charge of Motihar police station said, they did not get the copy of the case from court.
“Steps will be taken after getting the copy of the case”, he added.
However, Shibir RU unit, as a part of their previous declared programme, will observe strike today demanding immediate arrest of the attackers on their leader.
Tense situation was prevailing on campus following Shibir strike.
